Nei mesi scorsi è stato avviato, dal Comune di Catania, il processo di approvazione per lo Studio di dettaglio che permetterebbe ai proprietari di quaranta edifici nello storico quartiere di San Berillo di abbattere o di ristrutturare ignorando i vincoli architettonici che attualmente vigono nel centro storico della città. L’approvazione dello Studio di Dettaglio rischierebbe di portare all’abbattimento di palazzi architettonicamente importanti, di aprire le strade alle solite speculazioni immobiliari, di estromettere dal quartiere le e gli attuali abitanti rendendolo definitivamente un luogo conquistato alla movida ed alla economia del turismo. Noi pensiamo che un altro futuro sia possibile per San Berillo per questo invitiamo tutt@, domenica 19 Dicembre, ad una giornata di discussione in quartiere.

WHAT FUTURE FOR SAN BERILLO? PUBLIC ASSEMBLY
In recent months, the Catania city council has begun the process of approving the Detailed study that would allow the owners of forty buildings in the historic district of San Berillo to demolish or renovate them, ignoring the architectural constraints currently in force in the city’s historic centre. Approval of the Detailed study would risk leading to the demolition of architecturally important buildings, opening the way to the usual property speculation and evicting the current inhabitants from the neighbourhood, making it a place definitively conquered by the nightlife and the tourist economy. We think that another future is possible for San Berillo, and for this reason we invite everyone to a day of discussion in the neighbourhood on Sunday 19 December.

QUEL AVENIR POUR SAN BERILLO ? ASSEMBLÉE PUBLIQUE
Ces derniers mois, le conseil municipal de Catane a entamé le processus d’approbation d’une Étude détaillée qui permettrait aux propriétaires de quarante bâtiments du quartier historique de San Berillo de les démolir ou de les rénover, en ignorant les contraintes architecturales actuellement en vigueur dans le centre historique de la ville. L’approbation de l’Étude détaillée risquerait d’entraîner la démolition de bâtiments importants sur le plan architectural, d’ouvrir la voie à la spéculation immobilière habituelle et de chasser les habitant.e.s actuel.le.s du quartier, pour en faire un lieu définitivement conquis par la vie nocturne et l’économie touristique. Nous pensons qu’un autre avenir est possible pour San Berillo, et c’est pourquoi nous invitons tout le monde à une journée de discussion dans le quartier le dimanche 19 décembre.
