On 24 August, in Sicily, the Catania Police Headquarters issued a one-year order to leave the city to a noborder comrade. The order to leave was issued following the notification of the start of investigations against him for an offence of defacement. According to the police report, on the night of 19 August on the “main facade of the Frontex Agency headquarters, located at n. 74 Via Transito” in Catania, “paint contained in some cans was thrown and, using spray cans, the following phrases were written: “FRONTEX KILLS” and “STOP DEAD”‘.
Frontex is one of the primary perpetrators of the massacres that are turning the Mediterranean into a graveyard. Between drones, patrol boats, airplanes and radar, Frontex has for years been condemning tens of thousands of people to die at sea or to be stranded in the Balkan frost, exposing people who have survived a difficult journey to the violence of the various local police and the Libyan “coast guard.”
Frontex is a war industry, which between 2021 and 2027 will receive 5.6 billion euros from the European Union to be more effective in identifying, criminalizing, repatriating, and leaving people to die.
It is a cynical, ruthless and cowardly agency, since it thinks it can operate in silence and invisibility: in Catania, the Frontex office, the second in Europe, opened in 2015 and is hidden from the city, without any sign, afraid.
It is therefore also for this reason that police authorities of this Sicilian city are taking revenge on the person they assume simply wrote on a wall the truth that “Frontex kills.”
We are therefore writing to you from Catania to ask you to respond to this act of intimidation with a campaign of transnational solidarity that continues and boosts the struggle for the abolition of Frontex.
From the Canary Islands to Greece, from Sicily to Warsaw, we invite you to write wherever you like the phrase ‘Frontex kills’, or whatever militant creativity suggests. Or to share signs, banners, writings online through the tags #Frontexkills and #AbolishFrontex.
Lets not leave each other alone in the repression. Let’s erase Frontex from history!

Lo scorso 24 agosto, la questura di Catania ha dato un foglio di via di un anno dal comune etneo a un compagno noborder. Il foglio di via è stato comminato a seguito della notifica di un procedimento penale a suo carico con l’accusa di deturpamento e imbrattamento. Secondo il verbale, sulla “facciata principale della sede dell’Agenzia Frontex, sita in questa via Transito nr. 74” a Catania, “veniva lanciata della vernice contenuta in alcune latte e, mediante l’uso di bombolette spray, venivano scritte le seguenti frasi: “FRONTEX UCCIDE” e “BASTA MORTI””.
Frontex è uno dei primi responsabili delle stragi che stanno trasformando il Mediterraneo in un cimitero. Tra droni, motovedette, aereoplani e radar, Frontex da anni condanna decine di migliaia di persone a morire in mare o a restare bloccate nel gelo dei balcani, esponendo persone sopravvissutə al viaggio alla violenza delle varie polizie locali e della “guardia costiera” libica.
Frontex è un’industria di guerra, che tra il 2021 e il 2027 riceverà 5,6 miliardi di euro dall’Unione Europea per essere più efficace nell’identificare, criminalizzare, rimpatriare e lasciare morire.
E’ un’agenzia cinica, spietata e vigliacca, visto che pensa di poter operare in silenzio e nell’invisibilità: a Catania la sede di Frontex, la seconda in Europa, si nasconde alla città, nell’ex ufficio dell’anagrafe, impaurita.
E’ quindi anche per questo motivo che la questura si sta vendicando sulla persona che ipotizza abbia semplicemente scritto su un muro la verità che “Frontex uccide” .
Vi scriviamo quindi da Catania per chiedervi di rispondere a questo atto di intimidazione con una campagna di solidarietà transnazionale che continui e rafforzi la lotta per l’abolizione di Frontex.
Dalle isole Canarie alla Grecia, dalla Sicilia a Varsavia, vi invitiamo a scrivere dove preferite la frase “Frontex uccide”, o qualsiasi altra cosa suggerisca la vostra creatività militante. Oppure a condividere online cartelli, striscioni, scritte attraverso i tag #Frontexkills e #AbolishFrontex.
Non lasciamoci solə nella repressione. Cancelliamo Frontex dalla storia!

Le 24 août, en Sicile, la police de Catane a délivré un ordre de quitter la ville pour un an à un camarade noborder. Cet ordre de quitter la ville a été délivré à la suite de la notification de l’ouverture d’une enquête à son encontre pour un délit de dégradation. Selon le rapport de police, dans la nuit du 19 août, sur la “façade principale du siège de l’Agence Frontex, situé au n. 74 de la Via Transito” à Catane, “de la peinture contenue dans quelques bidons a été jetée et, à l’aide de bombes, les phrases suivantes ont été écrites : “FRONTEX KILLS” et “STOP DEAD””.
Frontex est l’un des principaux responsables des massacres qui transforment la Méditerranée en un cimetière. Grâce aux drones, patrouilleurs, avions et radars, Frontex a condamné pendant des années des dizaines de milliers de personnes à mourir en mer ou à être coincées dans les glaces des Balkans, exposant ceulles qui ont survécu au voyage à la violence des différentes polices locales et des ” garde-côtes ” libyens.
Frontex est une industrie de guerre, qui recevra entre 2021 et 2027 5,6 milliards d’euros de l’Union européenne pour être plus efficace dans l’identification, la criminalisation, le rapatriement et le fait de laisser mourir les gens.
C’est une agence cynique, impitoyable et lâche, puisqu’elle pense pouvoir agir dans le silence et l’invisibilité : à Catane, le bureau de Frontex, le deuxième en Europe, a été ouvert en 2015 et il se cache de la ville, sans aucun signe, apeuré.
C’est donc aussi pour cette raison que les autorités policières de cette ville sicilienne se vengent de la personne qu’elles supposent avoir simplement écrit sur un mur la vérité que “Frontex tue.”
Nous vous écrivons donc de Catane pour vous demander de répondre à cet acte d’intimidation par une campagne de solidarité transnationale qui poursuit et renforce la lutte pour l’abolition de Frontex.
